ROUBAIX |
| |
Put aside any clichés or preconceived ideas you may have, and let yourself be seduced by Roubaix. Discovering Roubaix is discovering the unexpected, a town proud of its industrial past, taking full advantage of its cultural diversity and benefiting from its amazing initiatives. Here, one site hides another. A museum is now located in the public swimming pool while factories are now home to dance studios, shops and artists' workshops. Here, a town's history can also reveal another. Roubaix, the capital of the wool industry, has now become the centre of the mail-order trade, bargain factory shops and textile design. Here, culture finds inspiration in disconcerting and surprising places. Here, you're somewhere a little different! |

SECLIN |
| |
Capital city of Mélantois, Seclin is perfectly situated south of the Lille Metropolitan area and close to main roads and transports links. A true town in the country, Seclin has a rich 100,000-year history. The city is home to three outstanding historic buildings: the 13th-century Collégiale Saint Piat built on St Piat the Martyr's grave, the Notre Dame Hospital established by Marguerite de Flandre in 1246 and, lastly, the cemetery gate, a rare revolution-style construction. Two very interesting museums serve the town: the Napoleon Mandarine Estate and Fort Seclin 1914-1918. |

WATTRELOS |
| |
The "Berlouffes" celebration and its immense second-hand market (the biggest in France), Lion Park in the town centre, the Carnival, the walks in the countryside and the other guided tours of our heritage sites, such as that of Saint Theresa church, are some of the many touristic assets that define and identify Wattrelos, the 5th largest town of the Lille Metropolitan area. The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions offers you the possibility to travel back in time, to the time when our grandparents where knee-high to a grasshopper. But what makes this town unique, without a doubt, is the connection it has with traditional games such as "Bourle", archery "à la perche", and the javelin. So, we welcome you to come stroll, relax, or pass your time in our town! |

ARMENTIERES |

| |
Welcome to Armentières. Located near principal motorways and railway lines (A25 Lille-Dunkirk, the North-West Bypass, a TGV Station), important towns like Lille (15 km), and just 1 km from Belgium, the region of Armentières opens its arms to you. A stop-over between Flanders and the Lille Metropolitan area, Armentières is a district that offers a wide choice of activities. Indeed, the Belfry of Armentières (royally situated at the heart of the town and now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Flemish style houses, and the sites of spinning and weaving mills make Armentières a town that is rapidly changing today. Yet the district also possesses a rich and varied countryside with its thousand year old river (the Lys), les Près du Hem with its beach in Armentières, Déliot Park at Erquinghem Lys, the pond at Frelinghien, and more. |

ARRAS |

| |
Discover the must-see sites of Arras. Known principally for its squares in the Flemish Baroque style which, along with the Town hall and Belfry (classified as a UNESCO world heritage site), is a real treasure, Arras will overwhelm you not only by the wealth of its heritage, but also by its way of life that is so characteristic of the city as a whole. The Boves: A tourist circuit under the town streets enables you to discover the "underground history" of Arras. Originally chalk quarries, the "boves" were dug from the 10th Century onwards and used for various purposes throughout the ages. The Belfry: Access to the first crown of the belfry for a panoramic view of the town and its surroundings. The Boves and the Belfry can be accessed from the Tourist Office. The Tourist Office staff is bilingual, and the visits of the Boves are in French and English. |
